About the role
Center Core Professional Technical Services L.L.C. is seeking a qualified Structural Design Engineer to join its team in Dubai, UAE. Candidates with UAE experience are highly preferred.
What you’ll do
- Manage the steel and concrete design team, including coordination with site and office teams.
- Participate fully in meetings, authority discussions, and submissions.
- Analyze project requirements and conduct detailed structural calculations.
- Design structural elements for each project using engineering software such as ETABS, SAFE, IDEA StatiCa, RAM, and STAAD.
- Perform structural element design checks using codes such as ACI, ASCE, BS, and Eurocode.
- Model structures and assignments in accordance with UAE building codes.
- Set project design criteria according to relevant codes and standards.
- Recommend materials and safety measures.
- Oversee project management activities, including tracking budgets and maintaining a database of projects and their progress.
- Review and provide feedback on shop drawings and coordinate with drafting and construction teams.
- Monitor design team progress and ensure submissions are made on time.
- Perform value engineering for projects using advanced design tools.
- Complete manual calculations and engineering reports to meet all project design requirements.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as needed to assess structural integrity and compliance.
- Prepare structural calculation reports for authority submissions, including DM and Trakhees.
- Prepare structural BOQs (Bills of Quantities) for tenders or cost estimates.
- Prepare and review material submittals, technical specifications, and method statements.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience as a Structural Design Engineer.
- Candidates with UAE experience are highly preferred.
- Strong foundation in structural analysis and design principles.
- Proficiency in structural engineering software tools.
- In-depth understanding of construction materials, methods, and code requirements.
- Strong drafting and detailing capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative work approach.
- Ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
